Electrical Technologies Outside Sales Representative

C&C Systems is a family owned electrical technologies company in the suburbs of Chicago. With 35-plus years of experience C&C Systems has grown into a leading contractor in the Chicago area. C&C Systems has excelled in enterprise level Life Safety, Security Systems, Structured Cabling, and also offers 24/7/365 Monitoring and Maintenance Contracts. C&C Systems is wanting to take the next leap forward to increase their business and is looking for an outside Sales Representative to help move the company forward.

The primary function of this position is to promote and sell electrical technologies equipment and installations to new and existing businesses in the Chicago market as well as monitoring and testing contracts. The ideal candidate possesses the drive and knowledge to aggressively increase sales while managing the entire sales process from uncovering opportunities, developing solutions, creating contracts, negotiating terms, and providing on-going service through the project closeout. 

POSITION STATUS & SCHEDULE – This position will work closely with the Owner and Project Manager. It is a Full Time exempt position generally working days Monday-Friday.  

COMPENSATION – Annual Base Salary plus Commission with paid Holidays and PTO. 

HIRE DATE – Position Available Immediately

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – 

  • Identify and qualify client needs, develop and implement sales strategies, negotiate and close profitable projects with contractors, developers, and end users. 
  • Consult and serve as an electrical technologies systems consultant for the Architectural and Engineering community. 
  • Develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of the company product offerings. 
  • Cultivate and maintain a sales pipeline to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual goals.
  • Provide solutions including equipment sales and installation to help companies mitigate risks in both life safety and intrusion mitigation. 
  • Pursue sales with lucrative recurring revenue.
  • Learn all the company’s products and services and continue with self-education as the technology evolves and new product offerings are added. 
  • Must meet with potential new customers to survey their site and determine their needs.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts for all jobs sold.
  • Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of successful sales experience in electrical technologies or similar industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written communications and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while preparing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able to allocate time effectively and multitask on multiple projects.
  • Must be a self-motivator with good organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer office applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn and master new products and computer software.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle to drive to multiple potential and current customer’s businesses. 

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with Life Safety, Security, and other low voltage systems, as well as reoccurring monitoring/testing contracts. 
  • Basic knowledge of construction blueprints, specifications and processes.
